3 things I’m excited about

3 things I'm excited about

First off, I am finally getting back to my kinda normal after the Spring One of a Kind, and working on some great custom canvases that patrons at the show requested. One of the best parts of this show is meeting fantastic people, both patrons & exhibitors. Yes, and of course, buying stuff.

My cow, Annabelle was a big hit at this show. People were very attracted to her and loved the background colouring. I am pretty sure she is now hanging in the office of a lovely lady. I definitely plan on creating more canvases using this style. By the way, Annabelle is now available as an 8×10 print at my OOAK Online Shop.

3 things I'm excited aboutNext, I am thrilled to announce that I have been asked to be part of the 2016 Joggles Design Team!!! Joggles is an on-line art & craft store that has fantastic supplies, as well as great videos & tutorials. Look for exciting projects from this very talented Design Team starting this month. I can hardly wait to start playing!

Finally, I am excited that Miss Know-It-All has survived her first year of university and will be home VERY soon! I have actually talked her into accompanying me to the Creativ Festival this weekend, on our way home from moving her out of residence. For those of you who are local, I have many art back in stock at the GACAG, Energy Flow Yoga (Keswick location) & Daylyn. Remember if you can’t find what you are looking for, just contact me!

Enjoy this very fine weather we are having!

One more opportunity…

Thank-you to all those who came out to the Xmas One of a Kind Show. It was a wildly exciting & exhausting 6 days. I met wonderful patrons & follow exhibitors, and of course came away with some beautiful stuff! Some are presents so I can’t show them, but here’s a sample.

I had to face the facts.

DIna WakleyDon’t you hate being the last person to the party? Last year, Dina Wakley, a fabulous favourite mixed-media artist came to Toronto, and by the time I found out about it, all of her classes were completely booked. So this year I was rock-show-quick to secure my spot in her class at Bizzy B. And to compensate for previously missed classes — I took 2!

face sketchI have always been afraid of faces — drawing them that is, so I signed up for Facing the Facts, and I couldn’t believe how the faces just came to life! I’m not sure why they seems angry, but I will work on that. I was so inspired I think I will take the 100 Faces in 100 days challenge started by that class on FB.

Next, in Graffiti of My Life, I created an art journal using techniques like colour field wash, confined collage & book binding with acrylic paints & ink on watercolour paper. It was intense!

I will definitely use some of these techniques I learned at the GACAG KidzArt Saturday Connection art class I am teaching Saturday, June 29. If you would like to know where I will be this summer, check my EVENTS page for upcoming shows.
