Don’t you hate being the last person to the party? Last year, Dina Wakley, a fabulous favourite mixed-media artist came to Toronto, and by the time I found out about it, all of her classes were completely booked. So this year I was rock-show-quick to secure my spot in her class at Bizzy B. And to compensate for previously missed classes — I took 2!
I have always been afraid of faces — drawing them that is, so I signed up for Facing the Facts, and I couldn’t believe how the faces just came to life! I’m not sure why they seems angry, but I will work on that. I was so inspired I think I will take the 100 Faces in 100 days challenge started by that class on FB.
Next, in Graffiti of My Life, I created an art journal using techniques like colour field wash, confined collage & book binding with acrylic paints & ink on watercolour paper. It was intense!
I will definitely use some of these techniques I learned at the GACAG KidzArt Saturday Connection art class I am teaching Saturday, June 29. If you would like to know where I will be this summer, check my EVENTS page for upcoming shows.
with gratitude, nadya
